2013 Tampa Bay Senior Games



The first Florida Senior Games championships were held in 1992.  These games are for people age 50 and above.  Currently, the Florida Sports Foundation sanctions local games, which serve as qualifiers for the state championships.  The Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department will be hosting the Tampa Bay local qualifier games this year from October 7th-18th.  The locations for the events  can be found here.  The sports offered include: 
  • 3-on-3 Basketball
  • Basketball Free Throw
  • Billiards
  • Bowling
  • Golf
  • Horseshoes
  • Pickleball
  • Powerlifting
  • Race Walk
  • Softball
  • Swimming
  • Table Tennis
  • Tennis
  • Track and Field 
  • baking contest
  • hobby show
  • talent showcase
The State Championships will be held Dec. 7th -15th in various locations in Lee County. These state championships are the qualifiers for the 2014 National Senior Games. For more information on the National Senior Games Association, please click here.

Florida Senior Games 2011

The first Florida Senior Games championships were held in 1992.  These games are for people age 50 and above.  Currently, the Florida Sports Foundation sanctions local games, which serve as qualifiers for the state championships.  The Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department will be hosting the Tampa Bay local qualifier games this year from October 3rd-14th.  The locations of the events, registration form, and rule book can be found here.  The sports offered include:

The State Championships will be held Dec. 3rd -11th in various locations in Polk County. These state championships are the qualifiers for the 2013 National Senior Games in Cleveland, Ohio from July 21st - August 6th, 2013. Florida Senior Games approaching soon!

The first Florida State Senior Games championships were held in 1992.  These games are for people age 50 and above.  Currently, the Florida Sports Foundation sanctions local games, which serve as qualifiers for the state championships.  The Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department will be hosting the Tampa Bay local qualifier games this year from October 4th-15th.  The locations of the events, registration form, and brochure can be found here.  Sports offered include:  3-on-3 Basketball, Basketball Shooting, Billiards, Bowling, Golf, Horseshoes, Pickleball, Race Walk, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, and Track & Field. 
 
The State Championships will be held Dec. 4th -12th in Lee County and the City of Cape Coral. These state championships are the qualifiers for the 2011 National Senior Games in Houston, Texas from June 16th - 30th, 2011. The 2009 Summer National Senior Games

The National Senior Games Association was originally formed in 1985 and was called the National Senior Olympics Organization. Over 12,000 seniors are expected to be competing in the 2009 Summer National Senior Games in Palo Alto California August 1st -15th. This event is held every two years and includes 18 medal sports. Medal sports include archery, badminton, basketball, bowling, race walk, triathlon, softball, swimming, and track and field. The rules and qualifying procedures can be found here.
