CARES, Inc is a non-profit organization that provides senior centers, home health care, adult day care, and respite care for older adults in Pasco County. On June 13th, CARES was named the Out-standing Non - Profit 501c3 by the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce. CARES Senior Centers in Hudson and New Port Richey offer may activities for seniors, including:
- aerobics and exercise
- Arts and Crafts,
- Computer Learning
- Dances
- Recreation
- Support Groups
- Travel Club

The CARES Elfers Senior Center in New Port Richey has moved to a renovated building at 4136 Barker Drive. This was an 11,000 square foot renovation, which was built with grant funding. This building now has a satellite branch of the New Port Richey Library - called the Avery Branch Library. This library will be staffed by CARES volunteers and contains over 1,000 books. This Senior Center will provide many activities including yoga, dancing ( ballroom and line dancing), music, tai chi, card games, computer classes, and craft programs. Community Aging and Retirement Services, Inc. (CARES) is urgently looking for volunteers for the Elfers Center. They need people to help with the "Telephone Reassurance Program". Volunteers in this program make telephone calls to elderly people to monitor their safety and to provide social support. In addition, they need volunteers to work in the center's thrift shop.
