"Over 90 and Loving It" is an uplifting and inspirational documentary about people in their 90's and older who are living extraordinary lives. This documentary interviews many people who are athletes, singers, authors, artists, scholars, political activists, volunteers, and more.

Health Care Advance Directives Program
Medline Plus describes health care advance directives as "legal documents that allow you to convey your decisions about end of life care ahead of time. They provide a way for you to communicate your wishes to family, friends and health care professionals, and to avoid confusion later on". Types of health care advance directives include living wills and choosing a health care surrogate. The HPH Hospice organization will be sponsoring a program explaining these directives this Wednesday. Seating is limited, so reserve your place by calling Jan Double at (727) 863-7971.

Protect Yourself from Financial Abuse
The Stetson University College of Law sponsors the Elder Consumer Protection Program. This program was designed to provide an educational resource for topics pertaining to elder consumer protection - including financial scams and fraud. The college sponsors free events as part of this program. There are two upcoming programs: "Protect Yourself from Financial Abuse (Family Issues, Preplanning, Personal Legal Document Basics)" and "Batten Down Against Disaster Frauds and Scams (Price Gouging, Home Repair, Charity Fraud, Insurance)".
The first program is:

Although the program is free, they do require that you register, as there is limited space. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided to registered attendees. You can call 727-562-7888 to register or to get more information or you can e-mail elderconsumers@law.stetson.ed.
In addition, free consumer services will be available at this event -such as do-not-call/opt-out registration, free credit reports, and secure document shredding.

Three Online Directories for Older Adults
50 Something Info
Sue Levine, a librarian, has developed a new online directory for older adults, called 50 Something Info. This website has links to trustworthy websites that have information relevant to older adults. The directory has many categories, including caregiving, health and wellness, medical, lifestyle, and law. By listing only reliable websites, this directory can save you time and effort.

Get Help Florida
For Florida residents, there is a new directory for older adults who need help fast for basic needs. The website is called "Get Help Florida" and it has a Senior Help page. At this website,you can find direct links to everything from "Meals on Wheels", to the "Benefits Checkup" website. Most of the links are to government websites.
Community Resource Directory
If you are looking for Senior Services from both government and non-profit agencies in Pasco or Pinellas County, you can search a Community Resource Directory created by the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas. There is also a telephone service - the "Senior Helpline"- at 1-800-963-5337. This helpline is available Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm.
